Summary of subject content:

Students will develop the performance skills required to perform a solo and a duet or trio. They will learn three set phrases and use these in their performance pieces.
They will develop creative skills, choreographing either a solo or group piece in response to an externally set stimulus.
They will develop their skills in critical appreciation through the study of eight short professional dance works.

Progression routes: Further study in the 6th form through A level Dance or level 3 BTEC Performing Arts.
Career in dance as a performer or choreographer.
Career in education as a dance or PE teacher or community dance artist.
