December 2015

teachersblogAs you will now know, after eight years, this will be my last Christmas at North Kesteven School.

I have some wonderful memories of the thousands of students who have studied with us, grown with us and achieved with us and look forward to ensuring all of our current students enjoy success in 2016.

Our final few weeks of term have been very festive, and, in the spirit of giving and sharing, I am immensely proud that our students have participated in the Rotary Shoebox appeal sending off many boxes to those in need. They have also been involved in community events such as the Hykeham Nativity and inviting lots of local residents to our annual senior citizens Christmas party.

I hope you all enjoyed our 2015 school show, 'Behind the Red Curtain' which this year was written by our Drama staff and included lots of popular songs from a wide selection of musicals. We had a huge cast and it was a pleasure to see the whole age range represented.

2015 has been a year that has seen great developments for our school and 2016 will see the completion of the £3.6 million One NK developments which will provide state of the art sporting and dance facilities for our students. We have just begun a fundraising campaign to re-vamp the Terry O'Toole Theatre. Seats, lighting, sound and décor all need updating to ensure the theatre matches the wonderful facilities elsewhere in the centre. If you have any contacts or fundraising ideas, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Fox our Deputy Headteacher.

I look forward to my remaining few months at North Kesteven School working with our students, staff, governors and the local community. I wish you all a very peaceful and happy Christmas period.
